Finding Out if Redbull Gives you Wings (A Grow Beast Excursion)

One day, two T-rex Grow beasts named Garry and Barry decided to do a little science experiment. As they strolled along the kitchen counter, Garry (whose green scales sparkled in the light) proposed that if he were to immerse himself in Redbull he would suddenly sprout wings! Barry (whose blue scales shone matte) thought this was ridiculous, and decided to wash off the annoyance of Garry's bizarre claim by taking a bath in his favorite glass which just so happened to be next to another identical glass filled with Redbull.

Immediately, Garry began to rise from the bottom of the glass, exuberant at this newfound flying abilities! While he had not grown wings, he was lifted up by this large bubbles which surrounded his body. A large shadowy figure outside the glass took note of this and chuckled. Meanwhile, Barry was enjoying his bath and slowly beginning to feel some growing pains...

Time for grow beasts passes quickly, and intermittently the large shadowy figure would pull Garry and Barry out of their glasses and measure them. Garry hated this the first time, as he lost all of his bubbles and sunk to the bottom of the glass. He had gotten a little taller in the glass, but Barry was ahead of him in terms of size, so Garry looked toward the only other available way for him to best Barry. He dreamed of the day that he could fly again, while Barry continued to enjoy his bath and grow even larger. Steeling his resolve, Garry used the power of hope to summon up bubbles from around him and fly again!

Garry reveled in his renewed flight! The shadowy figure was completely surprised by Garry's resurfacing as he had not replaced the Redbull and figured that the carbonation had all dissipated.

After his final flight, Garry had lost a lot of energy and sunk back down to the bottom of his glass. By this point, he had resigned himself to simply bathing in the Redbull and absorbing power from it, and a day after his last flight Garry had achieved maximum size. Barry continued to grow, but a day after Garry's peak he too started to shrink. As their baths continue to evaporate, Garry and Barry will slowly shrink until they return to their younger sizes.

Analysis:

Initial Conditions:

Garry was placed into 12 fl oz of Redbull, while Barry was placed into about 12 fl oz of tap water. The tap water was at roughly room temperature and the Redbull was fresh from the refrigerator. I would not swap out the water or Redbull.

Overall, the results show a period of growth between 0-87 hours for Barry and 0-63 hours for Garry. Both grow beasts show a similar trend in growth, except that Garry reached peak size 24 hours before Barry, although Barry reached a larger maximum size of 6.0325 cm tall. I could only find a tape measure in my apartment that had inches on it, so all measurements were recorded in inches and converted to centimeters.

Initially, Garry floated in the Redbull as the gaseous CO2 bubbles stuck to his form and lifted him up. He floated until the next measurement 15 hours later, upon which me pulling him out to measure pushed off the bubbles. He then sunk after I put him back in. Strangely enough, at hour 39, Garry had floated to the top again! I was completely surprised by this as I had figured the Redbull had most definitely gone flat by this point. The growth results for Garry and Barry were what I expected, but frankly I have no idea why Garry had floated with carbonation bubbles again after 39 hours of exposure to air. This warrants further research.
